Common questions.

Do I need to pay for an Anthropic API key?
No — that's the whole point of "bring your own agent." If you already pay for Claude Desktop, Cursor, or Windsurf, one click connects them to Eyrie. They handle the AI calls; Eyrie handles your notes. You only need an API key if you want to use Eyrie's built-in chat panel without an external agent.
What does "transparent AI" actually mean?
Every time the agent answers by reading your notes, the response includes citation chips — small clickable tags showing which files were read. Click a chip and the note opens. You always know what the AI saw.
What about Windows or Linux?
Mac-only by design. The whole point is being native — SwiftUI, AppKit, system shortcuts, sandbox, QuickLook extension. Cross-platform tools exist; Eyrie is the one that's truly at home on macOS.
Will my notes ever leave my Mac?
Only if you send them to an LLM yourself. Search and embeddings run locally via Apple's NaturalLanguage framework. URLs you ask Eyrie to clip are fetched via Jina Reader's public proxy. No telemetry, no analytics, no remote sync.
How is this different from Obsidian + plugins?
Obsidian is great. But plugin sprawl, theme drift, and "another app to set up" gets tedious. Eyrie ships a focused stack out of the box: hybrid + semantic search, ⌘E inline commands, chat with citations, MCP integration. Nothing to configure.
Can I trust an "AI editor" with my files?
Every file edit — from any agent — is a proposal. You see it as a diff and accept (⌘↵) or reject (⌘⌫). Nothing ever auto-writes. The architecture exists precisely because we don't trust agents either.
What if I get stuck?
